but i'm bored..... spent the whole day surfing the net & idling around the house. there's just nothing much to be done. oh wait. i was supposed to pick up my passport. ooops. i must do so tomorrow before class. hehe.

ok. 민선생님 is officially nice. she was quite jovial today & the lesson went by pretty fast. :) she commented that compared to the 1st few lessons, we seemed to have improved, which is gd news. :) towards the end of the lesson, she told us that because one student dropped out of the class & complained, the principal wants to know y. i think its quite sad cause she's actually a good teacher, for all her strictness. i don't find anything wrong with her teaching. since we are already at the intermediate level, its quite standard not to spoonfeed us anymore. in this way, i find that we'll actually learn better. then again, i suppose different people have different ways of learning. i find that her style of teaching suits me quite well. i do hope that i get her as a teacher for A1 next sem .:)

we've more or less finalised our travel plans. now all we have left to do is to book the air tix. really must get down to doing a budget. cause i'm leaving earlier than planned, so i need to have the extra $$ as well. its almost 1 mth in advance too! i'm really v v excited & so are the others as well. hehe. if only we could live like that everyday. how wonderful it would be. :D

i can't believe i just whiled away a whole day like that! its been like that ever since i started the new semester. i'ld just nua in front of the comp & surf surf surf my day away. computers are a bane to my studying plans. tsk tsk. recess has started & i'm extremely happy. but its not like i go to sch everyday too. hur hur. ;) its abt 6 more weeks(not including this week) of sch before the exams start. n its bye bye NTU!

민선생님 was unusually jovial yesterday. i wonder if it had something to do with the fact that the class was smaller. plus she kept cracking jokes in class. not that she doesn't usually, but she really was more friendly yesterday. she also offered to fetch us all to the nearest mrt station too. n when we asked her where she moved to, she told us 시골 (countryside). of course we were like ?!!?!?! since when does SG have a countryside? after much probing did she reveal that she's now staying @ Sengkang. she also says that she doesn't like going to compass pt cause it has a 냄새.

i hope she keeps this up for the rest of the lessons. :D

german class got cancelled unexpectedly today. found out thanks to jiehui's SMS. :D i bet its cause his wife's gonna give birth or something. hehe. so i'm rotting away at my fave place, the International House. i've the whole place to myself & its great. i don't get disturbed here & i can do my work in peace. ;P this was y WS & I came here all the time during our time in NTU. :) studying for my wonderful test tomorrow while waiting for Esther to knock off so that i can get my free cab ride down to SKS. hehe. she happens to be auditing NTU's accounts, so i'll just go over to SKS with her after she's done. yay. now i don't have to walk to SKS from the station. :D perfect.

Mahjong session with the girls also got cancelled cause WT has class & i've a test. :( nvm, i suppose we'll make it up real soon, right?

think we'll be heading over to korea earlier than planned cause yvonne's gotta be back in SG by the 8th cause she's going to Japan on the 10th. so i guess we'll leave by the 25th? or earlier. i can't wait. :D but yvonne doesn't want to go for the spa thingie.. so sad. vonnnn, go la go la..

after waiting for so long, TVB has finally decided to air 最美麗的第七天! i liked Kevin & Niki's pairing in 天幕下的戀人, so i'm really looking forward to this drama. however, i heard that it'll have a sad ending though.. sigh.... most of the filming was done in Japan during winter, so i suppose it shd be quite picturesque. :) will review again once i've started watching the show.

and guess what? my teacher's gonna make us take an online test again on sat at 10. ahhh.... need to study again. her announcement last night was met with many groans and sighs all around. so she said. "왜? 제가 시험을 볼 때 너무 재미있어요. 저 한태 한국어 수업, 스게이트 하고 시험이 아주 재미있어요. 왜냐하면 싱가포르에서 친구가 거의 없어서......" (why?? i think tests are very interesting. to me, korean classes, skating & tests are extremely interesting. because i don't have a lot of friends in singapore, that's y.)

and of course, we all looked at her disbelievingly. test test test again......

i realised that i have a tendency to mix up my 이/가 & 를/을 whenever i'm too tired or in a hurry to finish my essay. this is v bad.... i think i need more practice to drill these into my head so that writing it will become like a 2nd nature to me. need to brush up on my grammar & vocab before i leave for korea!!! procrastination, OUT!!

its recess next week! n WS's leaving this sunday! time really flies. in no time at all, it'll be the end of the semester. 3 years in NTU have gone by just like that. i feel kinda ambivalent towards leaving NTU. i don't really know what to make of it, honestly. there were good & bad times. its still school after all. actually, i'm quite glad that i'll only be starting work in sept & that i've another sem at KHU to go. :P this time, i'll be studying what i like. i wonder if i'll enjoy it more. after all, the grass is always greener on the other side. i won't have to wait too long to find out, i suppose.

we've already started our planning & we're gonna meet up next week, hopefully to finalize details so that we can book our air tickets, settle accommodation n all. its gonna be a wonderful summer! i'm already all hyped up even before the exams are here. hehe. it kinda reminds me of summer 06. at least i had something to look forward to then. summer 08's almost the same. JT says that she might be coming over too, as well as tammy. :D :D

this is terrible. i'm supposed to be studying for my test tomorrow, but i ended up reading the 만화 by 강풀 upon aini's recommendation. the 1st chapter's already quite interesting. gonna get the 만화 from korea. can't wait for it to come. hehe. i like SG Wannabe's new album. its pretty nice. get it if you haven't done so already! :)

went out for dinner with my thurs korean class, 치선생님 & 김서생님. we had a v interesting chat about life in korea, army life, the cost of living, the wage scale in SG vs Korea etc. she talked quite a lot this time round. the food at dian xiao er was v good!! yummylicious too. hehe. i like!:D think we sat there for like supremely long too. hur hur hur. went for coffee at Gloria Jean's after that & it was 치선생님 who treated us cause she felt bad that we paid for her dinner. she mentioned that she would like to visit NTU to take a look. haha. n she has moved to ulu boon lay from AMK. so no more AMK hub but JP now. :P will post up more pictures when i get them from SJ & Pam. :P

The amount of Growth Dividends that you can receive depends on the following:

How and when can I get my Growth Dividends?

You will receive a letter from CPF Board in mid April 2008 to inform you of the amount of Growth Dividends and 2008 GST Credits you can receive.

If you have already signed up for your GST Credits in 2007, you will automatically receive your Growth Dividends through the same mode as your GST Credits (i.e. bank account / cheque) in two installments, the first on 30 April 2008, and the second on 1 October 2008.

If you have not signed up for your GST Credits, you must do so to receive both your 2008 GST credits and Growth Dividends. You can sign up online (www.gstoffset.gov.sg) or by hardcopy forms available at CPFB Service Centres, Community Centres/Clubs and Community Development Councils. To receive the first installment of Growth Dividends by 30 April 2008, you must do so online (www.gstoffset.gov.sg) by 23 April 2008. For sign-ups after this date, you will receive your Growth Dividends between 4 to 15 working days after the sign-up, depending on your mode of sign-up and preferred mode of payment.

i think korea really has no lack of singers/bands. so much to listen to, but so little time. i think i sound like i'm doing some music review or something. haha.

and i've gotten hooked to delias recently. their stuff on clearance is really nice! esther, yvonne, my cousin & i are gonna order stuff from there n ship it over ourselves. hehe. wanted to get my other cousin in the states to bring it back for me, but i felt kinda bad cause she might have to pay for excess baggage n all. so yupz. :D

i'm so behind for german. thank God i'm gonna S/U it. ;)

having such an array of shows laid out before me really makes it hard to choose which one i want to watch. and so, i've adopted a 'sampling' attitude, that is, to watch a couple of episodes for each before deciding. Bad Love was really quite bad. it started off quite well, but it got more & more draggy as the show progressed. Hong Gil Dong wasn't too bad, but i haven't watched enough to make an informed judgement. New Heart's quite gd. but props goes to Before & After Plastic Surgery. i finished 5 episodes at one shot! now i'm eagerly anticipating the next installment. ;)

n i don't know y, but i think koreans are still quite obsessed with the Wonder Girls song, Tell Me. i suppose the 1st telling sign was at the MBC awards, where MC Yoo & the rest of the hosts got Yoon Eun Hye to do the 'Tell Me' dance. in Before & After, the song was featured at least 3 times in the first 5 episodes! 1: It was playing on the TV in the clinic, 2: its the ringtone of one of the nurses & 3: the MTV was playing on the TV in the doctor's house! plus, i just read a piece of news that says that the dance was featured in epi 17 & 18 of New Heart as well. i guess, if u can't beat them, join them.

i dunno if its just me, but i felt that this year's CNY was more of a quiet affair. not much conversation, cept among the aunties n all. perhaps we've all grown older? i dunno. but i feel that CNY was more fun when we were younger. now that its over, its back to school/work again.

i'm kinda sick of steamboat ('zhuang lou' in teochew) already. as my 2nd auntie so aptly puts it in teochew, 'zhuang till tao hing'. which means, 'knock till head dizzy'. haha. n so, i've decided to prepare my own pasta salad for dinner tonight. think my parents will be having steamboat AGAIN...

i haven't done my h/w, which is bad. i think the teachers shdn't give us so much h/w cause i dun think we'll have that much time to do it anyway. we're out visiting from morning till late & there's practically zilch time to do h/w. think i'll try to finish up most of my work tomorrow, that is, if my mum doesn't drag us out to her friend's place for visiting.

yesterday, before my teacher ended off the lesson, she taught us a new year greeting:

새해 복 많이 받으세요

which translates to: May you receive many blessings for the new year.

but privately, i think this is more applicable to the younger generation

새해 돈 많이 받으세요

which translates to: May you receive loads of $$(ang paos) for the new year.

but of course, i didn't tell her so. ;)

And i've loads of h/w cause she thinks that we'll be 심심해요 during the new year. so to prevent that from happening, she gave us a lot of h/w. besides that, i've an essay to write for german too.. sighhhh. looks like the new year holiday isn't gonna be much of a holiday after all.

y ladies love CNY? i think one of the primary reasons is because it gives them an excuse to buy new clothes, GUILT FREE! me included. but of course, i hate it when i've to plan in advance what to wear on what day & the fact that i can't wear my fave colors, black & white! i think abt 70% of my clothes are either black or white. n this creates a huge problem esp during CNY where red is the order of the day. speaking of which, i need to alter my white jeans for CNY. i think i really must get over procrastinating. it's been with me ever since i brought it back from HK, but nothing has been done abt it yet. to add on, my luggage is still lying in my room, unpacked. how terribly wonderful. i don't know y, but i just hate packing & unpacking. that's y i always have to start waaaaay in advance. i think it'll be even worse when i come back from korea. my luggage will probably lie in my room for a few mths before i start unpacking. haha. my mum keeps complaining that my room looks like a warehouse, and she's probably right. i just can't bring myself to tidy it up. there's always something more interesting/impt to do.

someday... i'll tidy it up. i hope.

i think Disderi cameras are cool! gonna get one for myself. it looks so much like a toy camera, but the pictures tt it takes are way cute!

the test was extremely traumatic. i think all of us were v stressed out. she only gave us 30 mins to do all the qns. n i heard that there might be 3 more of such tests. i dun think i can take too many of these. haha. looks like i need to do more revision n stop procrastinating. i think the gap btw elementary & intermediate's really v huge, but the satisfaction that u receive from realising how much u've learnt is great. i think i can understand how equinox felt when he went thru it last time.

received a CNY card plus the KPMG newsletter in the mail today. they said tt they'll get in touch with us regarding the Onboarding Programme soon.. ahh. work's starting soon. that's scary. i dunno which i rather be. a student or an auditor. anyway, planning for grad trip's really fun. hopefully everything will work out nicely & we can all enjoy ourselves. ;)

it's gonna be like summer all over again....

내일 10시 밤에 한국 시험있을 거에요. 제가 한국어을 배운 지 1.5년 지날 때 처음 참 부지런한 선생님은 봤어요. 수업 중에는 조금 엄격하기는 하지만 줗은 선생님이에요. 오늘 우리 3게 세 문법을 배우고 반말 도 배웠어요.



이사진이 예전에 선배blog에서 꺼냈어요. 나중에 한국에 갈 때 많이 사용해서 지금 배우기 중요하는대요. 아까 제 반친구가 저 한테 말했어요. '나중에 한국어 수업 끝난 다음에 뭘 하고 싶으세요?' 사실은 제가 잘 모를 겠어요. 한국에서 일거나 무역희사에서 일하는대 잘 모릅 니다. 하지만 제가 딱 하나 나것은 알아요. 한국어를 많이 관심하고 있어서 포기 않을 어예요.
