Ministry Of Evil.....so darn evil.

It has been decided that SATs n Mother Tongue will no longer be used to qualify for University Admission....yeah? or nay? Anyway, we have no say. I guess there are pros n cons to this latest policy that MOE has decided to come up with. Firstly, I think the part abt not including MT is good, cause there are quite a few ppl in JC whose MT isn't that gd but do pretty well for their other subjects. MT does pull them down somehow. So, yeah to this part of the policy. Anyway, i bet my whole class is gonna drop MT when the results come out sometime next week.. Thank God tt I didn't really study that hard for my MT..=)

SATs.....Well, i did pretty well for my SATs so I guess i'm kinda pissed off that they scrapped it. To those who didn't do that well, they must be rejoicing right now.. Thank God that I forgot to bring the money to sign up for SAT yesterday, unlike some of my classmates.. I don't have to worry abt trying to get back refunds from the Scholastic Assesment Board. My guess is that they probably won't refund the full amount, but only part of it. I guess this is the fairest way to deal with it. True, neither party is at fault. The Scholastic Assesment Board is independent of the Singapore Government so there's no reason why they should be penalised for the decisions that the S'pore Government makes. However, we the students, are also affected. The news only came out today at 8.p.m. One day after we have registered for the SATs. So who is to blame for this?? My only conclusion would be: The S'pore Government! I'm sure that everyone would have reached the same conclusion. =) Ok, now for the economics of my evalution of this. We have spent so much time n money on studying the SATs[not me though..haha] n its just being scrapped off like that? What abt those who have taken the SATs over 3 times?? They must have spent at least $240+++. Guide books for the SATs are not cheap. Its really unfair to those less well off students who have to fork out so much money, thinking that this would help them in their Uni admission, only to be told that its been scrapped. So where does this leave them?? Poorer by $240+++ n a loss of the no of hours spent studying SATs that could have been used for better things. This is Opportunity Cost man...

Anyway, my batch isn't the worse off. I think that our seniors, those recieving their A Level results next week, are the ones tt are hit the hardest. I really pity them, receiving such news so close to the release of their results. Now, 95% of their A Level results count towards Uni Admission unlike 75% as thought of previously. Not only that, 5% comes from CCA now. Can u imagine how those CCA-less ppl must be feeling now?? There goes their 5%.... n to think that i wanted to quit Drama today! Thank God that i didn't..=)

There she was just a walking down the street..

yeah, with lots of ppl staring at her leg. Ever been injured?? n having to limp around like a goondusamy?? Let me tell u. Its not fun. Try having zillions of ppl staring at you as you make your way painfully across the road. n to top that off, having wonderful friends like Esther Pig n T-rinh Hai Ha who laugh at your 'pai ka' the whole day... So not funny...

Jean's little brown book

i lost my brown notebook from Muji!! *boo hoo* all my homework assignments are in there!! n the Lit n Div essay questions!! I think i left it in the Div room. But i'm not too sure...Hopefully it will still be there tomorrow. i've feelings for it..its been with me for almost 1 year already! I went to look for Mdm Chan be4 doing my Lit essay, but she wasn't there!! made me limp all the way there..so far u know...Anyway, let's see if its still there tomorrow. Most prob it will be. Who would want to take a notebook full of homework assignments?? Unless the person is the cleaner who stole the mahjong paper from my homeroom. Probably used it to wrap drugs..haha. so cheapskate. =)

Econs n more Econs!! I've so much econs homework to do!! at least 4 chapters of MCQs n 1 worksheet!! i rather Mrs Tan come to class then give us so much work!

i fractured my leg!!!!! yeah, i dunno how i did it too. anyway, the technical term for it is a Stress Fracture.. And to debbie, NO, i did not stress myself out till i fractured my leg. well, the only treatment for it is rest n more rest. According to the doctor, i can't run, jump or dance cause that's gonna put stress on my leg.

Back From The Airport

went to send Jess off to New Zealand......pretty sad that she's leaving, like what Denise said, one less friend in S'pore. Anyway, i've managed to upload the pictures we took there... the link's below.

Whee................... i got an A for my Maths Differentiation test!!!! Actually, i expected to get only a B, but i got an A!!! This is like my first A so far in the whole of my JC life..not counting the 1st 3 mths.. =)

I kinda agree with Esther that it is a waste to drop Lit just because of silas marner. something abt giving her the satisfaction that i've dropped her subject??? well, i really don't know. she's totally killing my interest in the subject. i used to like lit, n look forward to lit lessons. Now? I can't wait for the period to be over even before it has begun. Maybe, just maybe, i'll keep all my subjects all the way...or maybe, i'll drop. I really don't know!!! I'm confused! can someone help me out here???? Please????

수요일, 2월 18, 2004

i didn't go for cross country today..=) I spent lots of time at home. Time that was supposed to be used constructively. but guess what??? i wasted it all doing frivolous stuff. Such as??? surfing the net, typing out this useless entry.......

Gosh, what am i doing?????the Block Tests are coming!! I repeat. The Block Tests are coming!! *says sternly* get your ass off the comp chair n get down to serious work! yeah, like i'll ever do that...=P I've just realised how important this year is to me. Its either i screw up my As or I do brilliantly, by which i mean at least 3 As n an A2 for GP.But seeing as how my GP sucks...i'm beginning to wonder if i can even get a B3 for it. I guess the stress n the reality that the exams are near is starting to sink in for all of us. Hai Ha is so stressed till she keeps pulling her hair out, literally.Well, i'm one of the few goons left in 03A31 still taking 4 subs.Thank God that i don't have to take Chinese for Block Test 1. At least that's a weight off my mind. I'm seriously considering dropping Lit now, instead of Econs. Problem is, my Lit is way better than my Econs. My new Lit teacher doesn't seem to be helping much in terms of academic studies..I don't even know what i've learnt from her so far! There are 3 parts to the Lit paper, and i have only confidence in one, which happens to be Mr Smith's paper,Paper 5. It just so happens that she is taking me for BOTH Paper 1 and Paper 8. Her teaching style is totally different from Miss D. I know i shouldn't be comparing and all, but it's difficult not to. I think i speak for the class when i say that i really miss Miss D teaching us. Like what Esther says, our new teacher is leaving us to sink n swim. Well, i'm beginning to enjoy Econs more ever since we moved on to Macro Econs. However, i still dunno how i'll do in Block Test 1. I think i'll set my targets for Block Test 1 soon. There are such a lot of topics to cover for Block Test, so much so that i'm wondering if i'll have enough time to revise them all.........

Meanwhile, its back to the books....n school tomorrow.

The rats will come! the rats will come!!

Something really dumb happened yesterday. Joy,Peter n I were at the Hokkien Mee stall 'da-paoing' food up as usual when our dear principal decided to make her presence felt there. She began by asking y we were 'da-paoing' the food, then asked where we were bringing it to.... When we told her that we were bringing it to the Div room to eat cause we don't have any breaks the whole day,her whole expression changed!!

Principal[P]: "oh.but the rats will come!"
Peter: Oh no, we don't throw the food in the dustbin in the Div room.. We take it down to the caf to throw it away.
P: Oh, but the rats will come!!
Joy: No no, we're very careful! we clean up everything n we throw away our food in the caf.
P:Oh,but the rats will come!!

jeez....i just don't understand her! i mean, we've already told her that we throw our food away in the caf.so how can the rats come if we clear up everything properly? Since the rats will come even though we throw away the food in the caf, does that mean that our caf is rat-infested???? Anyway, she told mdm chan in an e-mail that we were only to have sandwiches, bao, burgers n water. So, everyone was kinda pissed off at her. I think Sidney even suggested having spaghetti n hokkien mee burgers..yeah, the rats come in the middle of the night to try to infest the div room...how, may i ask, are the rats supposed to squeeze through a 1cm gap in btw the door n floor???

Truly Madly Deeply

i want to stand with you on the mountain
i want to bathe with you in the sea
i want to lay like this forever
until the sky falls down on me

listening to this song right now......its playing in the caf..guess someone made a delication....yep, in case u guys don't know, SAJC celebrates Valentine Day..yep. n its called Friendship Week..for the whole week, we have song delications in the caf, various items relating to the color of the day being sold in the upper caf by the Co-Op..Today happens to be Red Day...=) The song Truly Madly Deeply reminds me of my pri sch days. We even had a Tao Nan version which goes like this.........

Truly Madly Deeply...the Tao Nan way....

i want to stand with you on the table
i want to bathe with you in the pond
i want to swim with all the tadpoles
until the sun falls down on me.....

yeah, i know its pretty lame n all, but how can u blame us?? we were in pri sch after all!!! You know pri sch kids...they find EVERYTHING funny!!!!

I'm having my first n only break of the day right now...at 2.10p.m-2.50p.m....really sad. after this i have a double period of Maths... i end at like 5p.m everyday!!!! i really have no more life.....that's super sad..but what can i do abt it except to whine on my blog??? That's JC2 life for u....Anyway, Econs was pretty interesting today. Mrs Tan brought her daughter's caterpillar thingie that's supposed to wake Ben up...you know how he's always sleeping in class?? It was super funny..each time he fell asleep, Mrs Tan just pressed the caterpillar n held it to his ear.. it made this super squeaky noise.Like a mouse.. Needless to say, all of us were in hysterics..=)

Oh yeah, HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY cum VALENTINE'S DAY to everyone!! i really feel very bad abt it.......i keep recieving but i don't give anything..Thanks a bunch to Xin Yi,Grace,Ben,Eunice Kua,Joy,Serena,Ryan......for all your V-Day gifts!!! Really sorry that i dun have anything to give to u guys...I've been recieving lots of sweets n chocolates. ...=)Yum!!

Got home pretty late today.I was released at abt 3.30p.m to go to the Tea Chapter with my other classmates who r taking Chinese AO.. Thought that it would be rather boring....but surprise surprise...i actually ended up having lots of fun!!! We reached there at abt 4 n waited for Mr Lim aka our chinese teacher to come...he drove Charlotte,Kimberly,Ryan n Grace there...Our class has two 'pai ka' ppl now..haha...one is Hyen Ying n the other is Charlotte... both are forever obstructing the way....=) Anyway, we drank lots n lots of tea n ate a lot too...My fave is the 'lao chong' tea...Xin Yi also likes it alot.. Xin Yi is super obsessed with tea making..She kept making tea for all of us!!! We drank n drank till we kept going to the toilet~! Bing Xin was damn funny too.. while smelling the tea, anyway, i dunno how he did it.. he smelt till the tea went up his nose!!! =) n in a separate incident,he said to Hyen Ying...

Bing Xin:"lai xian ying, wo jing ni yi bei..."

then he raised the cup to his lips a la ancient scholar style...n flipped the tea into his mouth. n guess what happened???? I think either he drank the tea too fast or the tea was too hot..anyway, he choked on the tea n it all came out of his mouth..haha....

Mr Lim treated us to Tea Eggs,Siew Mai,Dumplings n Glutinous Rice Chicken Dumplings.....so nice of him right?? we all ate n ate so much..felt so full that i didn't even have dinner!! We stayed there for 2 hours be4 going home.

i think today was a really good outing in the sense that our class ppl had the chance to bond...felt pretty close to all of them... never had so much fun with all of them be4...Ivan was a total lamer as usual, Hyen Ying n Xin Yi kept spilling tea all over...i wouldn't have minded if not for the fact that i happened to be sitting next to Xin Yi....n she split tea all over me too...

i managed to finish my PC assignment..haha... so proud of myself.=P Still have tutorial 23B to do though........i hate integration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

esther's gonna laugh abt the fact that one of the careers for me is an Economist.. i can just see her rolling ard in mirth! huh!!! its not funny.....anyway, i have a maths differentiation test tomorrow........sighz. haven't really been blogging these past few days, save for the fact that i've been taking stupid n nonsensical tests like the one below...These tests do, in some way help to relieve the stress that's on me both at sch n at home... Yeah, cheap thrill..as some ppl would say. This is what happens once u get to JC2... anything that's super dry can somehow turn u on...laughing... *shakes head*

Anyway, i got out of Drama today.. Told Hai Ha to tell that woman that i have a stomachache..which is kinda true by the way.. Dunno what happened. It feels real weird..........i still have a Lit Essay to hand up by fri, n Econs h/w for Mrs Tan....=(

Still

When the oceans rise
And thunders roar
I will soar with you
Above the storm

Father you are King
Above the floods
I will be still and
Know you are Lord

you are violet
#EE82EE

Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

Black

Your color is black. The color of night. Serene and mysterious, black conjures up images of elegant evening gowns, dashing tuxedos, and gleaming limousines. Traditionally a symbol of success, black also represents power and an uncompromising demand for perfection. Not surprisingly, you tend to set challenging goals for yourself and do whatever it takes to achieve them — your strength of character is second to none. This unfaltering determination, along with your natural elegance, impresses people. But keep in mind that your personality might be intimidating to some. Try to temper your demanding side with a little softness — trust us, it won't kill you. Overall, though, black is the color of professionalism and achievement, which means it's clearly the color for you.

Black 'n' White

When it comes to fashion, you stick with the basics. Black and white and more black — you're about as classic as they come. You don't feel the need to dress up your outfits with too many flouncy edges or frilly colors. (Unless, of course, they're accentuating your clean line.)

When it comes right down to it, black and white makes the most sense for you. It puts you in control — slims down the thighs, accentuates your top — and lets you travel seamlessly from day to night in a put together manner. There's a certain sophistication that comes with your style, and your accessories need to be as classy as your clothes.

You're driven — constantly on the go with your PDA in tow, or the newest model of cellular phone with video capabilities. Sure you like spending time with friends and loved ones, but like any good separate, you can stand on your own, too. You like to schmooze with the "it" crowd, but relish your time alone just as much. A long, hot bubble bath in your claw-footed tub with a glass of lemon spritzed water? Ahhh.

Fashion tips for you:

The rule about not wearing white before Memorial Day or after Labor Day? Forget it. Three-piece, white suit; Armani shades; white, eyelet bikini; black miniskirt; the slimmest, high-tech cell phone; strappy, black sandals; narrow, leather bag (in white or black, of course).
