yet another nice song by my fave guy.

esther, u shd listen. :) its really v nice.

anw, exchange results have been delayed. just received an email from IRO saying that due to the overwhelming no of ppl who applied, they'll only be able to release the results from mon onwards. :( i was hoping to get everything finalised this week. oh well... looks like i'll only know on mon then.

dinner with the triumvirate has been fixed on tues! ms teo, pls don't forget my coat & yr 2 bagfuls of stuff at my place. ms chew, can u pls let me know how much i owe u as well?? where are we meeting and what are we having?? i'll be sure to bring my best friend along too. it misses u guys. hur hur.

apple hasn't come back yet. still missing it terribly. the technician called me on mon to tell me that my hard drive's fine (thank God) and that it was my wireless card that failed apparently. but what does the wireless card have to do with my laptop refusing to power on is beyond me. i'm just glad that my data's all in there. safe and sound. :D

sch has literally become my 2nd home. for this week at least. for the record, i was in sch from 830am-8pm on tues cause of my 306 project. and tomorrow i've to reach sch by 830 to do a run thru for the presentation as well.i'm extremely tempted to skip 206 on fri. 1stly cause its an 830 class and 2ndly cause i haven't finished my readings. the only thing that's holding me back is that the topic covered is rather impt i think. accting for bonds & leases. it took me an entire afternoon to complete the bonds part. i'm still left with the leases to read up on. not forgeting, i still have 304 readings and tutorials to do. yeah. i haven't been doing 304 tutorials since sem #5! bad bad bad. i suppose i'll have lotsa time to catch up this weekend.

packing my bag before going to zzzzzzzzzzz. night!

this is fantastic. look at what projects + stress + boredom got me.

and if i may add, it was all in the span of one day. i need to stop spending and start saving. yeah. hopefully i won't be so inclined to spend once i hand up my projects next week. ;)

i just had to post this before i head off to bed. level 5 started today! it was extremely interesting & i enjoyed it a lot! sung seng nim let us sing sung si kyung's on the street, which is my all time fave song. :) i sure understand the song a lot better now. :) she said that korean songs are like poems in a way. u need to look beyond the surface meaning of the word in order to understand what it means. time really flew by in class today. :) plus, the class is much smaller, so sung seng nim was able to give each of us more attention. also, she showed us plenty of pictures of kyung hee uni in seoul & its really beautiful! the buildings are akin to that of those in the UK! quaint and historical! i like!

another thing, my laptop crashed a few days ago. so i have to use the family computer to do my work. the good thing is that at least i still have access to the internet, though albit slow. i sure hope that i get my laptop back quickly. i miss it a lot! never have i felt so lost before. my bro said that its gd cause i will spend more time doing my work instead of surfing the net. hah.

i can't wait for next week to be over. cause my 304 & 306 projects will be over! yippee!! i've been working on my projects everyday this week! in fact, i've 3 project meetings tomorrow!!! oh man. for the better good.... i shall perservere!

God has really been instrumental this sem. w/o Him, i think i wouldn't even have had the energy and strength to do what i've been doing. its a miracle that i've managed to complete all my readings, do my tutorials & not skip classes! haha. amen!! :D

Ps Prince's msg on sunday was just so apt. Rest. that's what its all about. this notion kept springing up in my mind each time i did my QT or when i just spent time with Him. a word in season, that's what it is. God never fails. period.

Plugged In: ABBA-Dancing Queen

still doing up my PA report. :( it's due on mon. trying to finish it up by tonight so that i can rest easy. i think i still have like 700 more words to go & i feel like i'm writing crap. period. boo hoo hoo. 306 lecture at 445pm tomorrow! so late!! oh well. at least i get to sleep in. i still haven't kicked away my nocturnal habits & my 830 lessons begin next tues. bad bad. so many readings to do. haven't finished scott. haven't even bought my 206 text. haven't done readings for 304. haven't done my tutorial for 206. URGH!!!

for now, i'll just concentrate on completing my PA report.

화요일, 8월 07, 2007

the 1st day of sch went pretty ok i guess. lugged home my 306 & 304 textbooks. t'was pretty heavy. bleah. oh wells. and i know quite a few ppl in my 304 grp so alls well. :) my tutor's pretty comical. he asked the class if any of us have life insurance. and being the typical ntu class, everyone kept silent. so he said that our class had like lots of potential & he would recommend us to his insurance agent. haha. and at the end of class, he made us fill in this little white card with our details. really absurd ones. haha. u would think that we were going for some interview. a few even commented that he seems to be taking our details to pass on to his insurance agent. we had to write down our name, race, place of birth, dialect grp, 5 gd adjectives to describe ourselves, work experience, what we wanna achieve in our career & to leave space for a PASSPORT PHOTO!! i can't believe the photo part. all of us groaned when we heard that. madness. i think i'll give him my ugly photo. haha. try to use it all up. hur hur. ;)

i've finished winter sonata! it's like so bittersweet can. urgh. and i know i've said this umpteen times, but choi ji woo can really really cry! i'm still debating whether or not to watch stairway cause it has a tragic ending. and one of my rules of watching dramas is that they have to at least have a happy ending.

tomorrow's the INSTEP briefing! yippee. ho ho ho.

i know this is so random, but mickey, pls get rid of yr american accent ya?

지금 사랑하는 사람과 살고 있습 니까?

this sounds like a v interesting movie. and i'm sure that pam will be interested in it. why? just because her lee dong gun is in it. hur hur.

Cheating is a favorite topic for many filmmakers, and director Jeong Yoon-soo puts a double spin on the forbidden relationships in his latest film "Changing Partners (Jigeum saranghaneun saram-gwa salgo isseumnikka?)."

The Korean title, which translates into "Are you living with the person you love?" tells volumes about the movie's dominant theme. In some cases, people happen to find their soul mates after they already have gotten married, and this tricky development often jeopardizes the existing marital relationships.

"Changing Partners," however, does not attempt to justify cheating. Instead, it depicts a crisscrossed scandal where two couples get entangled in belated and illicit romantic relations.

Young-jun (Lee Dong-gun) is a wealthy businessman, and his wife So-yeo (Han Chae-young) runs a lighting design company. The only problem with the couple is that they have never been in "hot" relationships, and are now maintaining a perfunctory tie as a couple that seems happy in the eyes of bystanders. In contrast, Min-jae (Park Yong-woo), a hotelier, and his wife Yu-na (Uhm Jeong-hwa), a fashion consultant, maintain passionate relationships three years into their marriage.

The two starkly different couples meet each other and a sort of changing of partners occurs. So-yeo is drawn to Min-jae, who is far more friendly and delicate than her husband. Yu-na feels attracted to Young-jun's charismatic character, something that is lacking in her husband.

At a press preview held on Wednesday, director Jeong said he hopes the audiences do not think too much about the scandalous setting in the film. "This is about love and marriage, and I hope people just take a look at this type of love without prejudice," he said.

Asked whether the film justifies swapping, director Jeong said the movie has nothing to do with swapping. "I have never thought my film is concerned about swapping. It is just a story about people who happen to fall in love belatedly. I wanted to pursue more open answers for this matter, focusing on what is really important for us, rather than what's important for protecting the marriage," he said.

Actor Park Yong-woo said, "Personally, I was somewhat confused about the relationships in the movie. I believe that love cannot be described in a couple of words or explained logically, but this is a socially sensitive issue, so the important aspect is whether we have an open mind about all of this."

Actor Lee Dong-gun also stressed that the focus of the film is placed on romantic but misplaced relationships. "This is about love that has gone awry, but the film does not justify or sugarcoat the cheating. But the point is that even misplaced relationships are relationships," he said.

Director Lee said he made efforts to decorate the background for major scenes, adding a sense of luxury. "In many scenes, characters meet in upscale bars or other posh restaurants, so we really put a lot of effort into making the scenes luxurious and colorful."

The film, produced by Cine2000, will be released on Aug. 15 nationwide.

elective allocation results are out & i managed to get my desired electives! praise God! yupz. i got a 5 day week too. oh well. it's just for 1 sem only. and horror of horrors, i found out that AA306 is a closed book paper! and i quote,

" A closed-book approach is adopted for both the in-class quiz/tests and the final examination to ensure that each student achieves a high level of technical mastery of the FRSs featured in this course. "

that's so unfunny. :( it means that i've to spend more time memorising. bleah.. reminds me of the financial statements that i did during my internship. in a way, i'm kinda glad that i went thru it cause it exposed me to more FRSs. we shall see how it goes. i forsee frequent study trips to the airport. right Pam ssi? ;P

and our beloved mickey is coming back from seoul tomorrow! we're all gonna go pick her up(& our stuff tt she bought) from the airport. :D let's see how different she has become. hur hur hur. SQ607 everybody!!!

수요일, 8월 01, 2007

i think i've been eating too much during the hols & during my internship. too much good food. esp at night. terrible. but oh well, i'm v sure i'll lose it all when i go back to sch. haha.

just came back from k buffet with pam, jiun pey & jieting. was quite fun. but i think we were more interested in the food than the songs. and their busan pictures were nice! makes me wanna fly over immediately. i think jieting's obsessed with the 아리랑 아저시 though. hur hur. so many many videos of him. :D they're gonna start lessons @ NUS ext too!! yay! hhaha. so fun. more ppl to practice with. ;)

this week is like super busy. i guess everyone wants to meet up before sch starts. i still haven't finished my PA report. argh. i'm only halfway thru & i feel like i'm writing crap.
