woooo.. results r out! really thank God for this sem results. it's my best sem so far. didn't expect a B- for tax. thought that i would do much worse. got B+s for the other 3 subs. managed to pull up my GPA too.. hehe. so yeah. i'm pretty happy with my results. & i trust God that I'll do much better next sem. it's gonna be all God & none of me. trusting in God for my honours! :)

I'm back from HM6!!!! :D

HM6 was fantastic! I knew it was going to be great, but what happened was so totally amazing. God's presence was just so evident & real in the camp. Ps Chin's sermons really spoke to me & gave me such a revelation. One thing that really struck me was the fact that God wants us to come to a point of self-poverty so that we might rely solely upon Him & His grace. We need to live everyday knowing that we need God's help in everything. Not by our own effort or strength, but by His grace,mercy & favour upon us. One of the main thrusts of the message was how each & everyone of us is a unique individual in Christ. I feel that this is very impt & real in our lives today. Every day, countless advertisements and such are being aired, making us feel/believe that we need a certain product/item in order to become 'SOMEBODY'. This can't be more wrong. The youths today need to learn that having such things don't make you become a 'SOMEBODY'. why bother buying stuff to impress ppl who don't even care? When we try to be someone we're not, we are not flowing in God's grace. God has ordained us to be an individual but not apart from Christ. So when we are in Christ, we are unique!

Another pt that really made an impact on me was that pure knowledge of the Bible will not bring you anywhere, but revelation will. This is so true in my life. I remember when I was studying Divinity in JC, I received a lot of knowledge about the Bible, but yet they didn't speak to me. I knew what it meant to be in the new covenant, but yet I was unable to fully comprehend the true meaning of it. But after attending NCC, I received a lot of revelation through the sermons. Suddenly, I understood the true meaning of God's love for us, as well as Jesus's work, person & love for us. It became more real, personal & evident in a way that I've never experienced before. Looking back, I see that it's was part of God's plan to even place me in SAJC, to take Divinity as a subject. Really thank my Abba Father for what He has done & what He is going to do.

NTU cluster rocks! really enjoyed the whole time we spent together. Got to know more ppl in the cluster as well as my own CG ppl much better. :) Our CG won the best CG for grp games & the NTU cluster won best cluster as well! hehe. got lots of food as our prize. :P yum!! Pictures from camp will have to wait cause the rest of the NTU peeps still haven't uploaded the pictures on multiply. :)

it's only after working did i realise that what we learnt in sch is of minimal use. We're supposed to do the bank reconciliation for FY05. we thought it was a simple task at first cause what we learnt in sch seemed easy enough. HOWEVER, the actual bank reconciliation is TOTALLY different from what we've learnt. we spent almost 1.5 days on jan 05 itself & we still couldn't get it to balance! :( at least today was slightly faster. we managed to complete feb & mar 05. i bet we'll be doing bank reconciliations for the whole week! suzanna is super pro @ it. she managed to balance it within like 10 mins! practice makes perfect i guess. hah. at least we know how to do it now. i was telling WS that we can add it into our resume now. hohoho. so fun. it's back to staring at the figures again tomorrow. i wonder how long we'll take to do april & may. we'll probably have fun in btw calculating GST & zapping random stuff. how exciting..

sch's out & it's time to work!

been doing lots since exams ended on the 27th. apologies for not being to update earlier. been v busy every single day. spent the whole of last week working at the IT fair. i've started work @ Haach with Wai Shan as an acct asst. work's pretty ok. not too taxing. hehe. i like! :D

dinner with 선생님 @ Waraku last night was pretty good. Alan treated us all to dinner. hehe. :P it's gd to be a student. the food & company was good. we shd do this more often. after dinner, we chatted till 10pm! after which, 선생님 so kindly offered to send me home as i live near her. so yupz, i had a good time. :)

and Jack & The Beansprout today was fantastic! Everyone shd go watch it! It was perfectly biting & satirical! :) hehe. i esp liked the part abt the Jack Neo/Jack's Place & I Not Stupid. hehe. and to my surprise when we entered the theatre, our seats were in the front row! When i booked the tickets thru Sistic, it clearly stated that my seats were in the Circle Stall & definitely not in the front row! esp since my tickets were like the 2nd cheapest! God 'upgraded' our seats to the front! felt so loved by my Daddy God. He loves us so much that He wants only THE BEST for us! :) so yupz, we got a perfect view of the stage & we enjoyed the play lots! :D

can't wait for HM6!

P.S: Cath, just to remind u. my birthday's NOT on the 2nd of Dec! it's on the 10th!!! haha.

sipping away at my frappe, plugged into my pod & cuddled up in a nice comfy sofa with a good book. my ideal way to spend a lazy afternoon. that and a awesome view of the cloudless blue sky. finally saw st jack's at Times after being ousted from Starbucks ( cause studying time's over). was tempted to buy it, but figured that i could probably get it at MPH for an additional 20% off. that is, if MPH does sell it. anyway, i'll be heading back to Times this week, so no worries there.

there's something abt november & december that makes me feel all christmas-y and happy. is it the fresh air? the cooler weather? or just the fact that holidays are near? everywhere i go, i see shops and cafes alike, decked out in red & green. oh, how i wish SG would snow. i love winter and the clothes too. i love feeling all warm & snuggly in my woolies & boots. but i guess it's a different story when u actually have to live through it year after year. i wouldn't mind spending a year or two abroad in a 4-season country.

on a side note, starbucks peppermint mocha frappe's nice! try it! it got me into a holiday mood almost instantly. :)

spent half the night throwing up.. it was damn bad. :( minor case of gastric flu. was abt to go to slp when i felt the whole room spinning. wanted to throw up but i couldn't. :( so my dad made me some hot milo and all. after a while, everything came out and i felt much better. won't go into the details, but let's just say that it was not a pretty sight.

i'm gonna swear off fast food for a while now. i don't think i can handle it.

i'm freaking irritated with certain ppl in a certain community who can't seem ( or just choose to ignore) to read english! T&Cs are already stated super clearly in my entry. but nooooo, they can choose to blatently ask me when i've so kindly typed NO for them to see. of course, i can choose to ignore them. but being the 'want to sell off my stuff quickly' person that i am, i just have to email them 2 say that no, i can't do this cause of blah blah blah... it really gets on my nerves. can't these ppl read ENGLISH?!!?!?! No means NO! i wouldn't be so pissed if it only happened once or twice. this has happened EVERYTIME i submit my entry. this just goes to show the level of intellegence they possess how 'busy' they are. must be politically correct here. hah.

the exams are coming so quickly that it's not funny. :( i haven't had time to revise my korean ever since ms bae started on grammar. this is not good. will be continuing with level 2 on 7th dec. hehe. pretty fast. there goes my $$ again. oh well. at least i haven't been spending that much on stuff lately. :P

korean class yesterday was cheem! all the grammar rules r funny. :( conjugation,particles & topic markers! 청말어려워요! exams r coming soon.. so fast!!! :( tax yesterday was quite interesting. my prof was in one of his moods again. i happened to be late for class by abt 10 mins. so as i was copying down the stuff on the board, my prof walked over. i didn't think much of it cause he likes to walk ard the classroom during lessons. he suddenly came up to me & said, "hi, we haven't met cause u were late. i'm yr tutor's twin brother. you can call me bond, james bond." i was like "errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" and he continued with his 'impersonation' throughout the whole class. funny fellow.. haha. but that's what makes tax class interesting. :P

and woan ting's in the korean class after mine!! yay. so i'll have company when i go for my makeup lesson. :D ms bae's pretty fast! yesterday was the 5th lesson, but she has already taught us stuff that's meant to be taught in the 6th lesson! 청말좋아요!

i'm bored.. haha zao-ed my 202 class cause i didn't do my readings. anw, i heard that the prof's gonna like pick 1 person from each grp to go up and ans qns. thus, since i didn't do my readings, i've decided not to go. hehe. so here i am in the comp lab waiting for time to pass so that i can go for my korean class. ooh, it rhymes!

anw, i got back my 201 in class assignment. quite happy with the grades. it's pretty ok i guess. praise God! :D

was reading thru Colossians the other night. certain verses seem clearer now as compared to when i did div in the past. i never really took much notice/didn't understand what those few verses were trying to say before.

"When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross." - Colossians 2:13-15

these verses really spoke to me & reminded me once again of JC's great sacrifice on the cross. We're no longer under the law ('written code'), but under grace.

our r/s with JC is a constant one. we can't just live on the Sunday sermon alone. i'm not saying that its bad or anything, but my pt is that we need to constantly fellowship,read the Word & hear the Word. there r times where i'm just too tired/lazy to read it. But once i make the effort to do so, wow, i just feel so refreshed & energised. it's exciting to see what the Lord has in store for u. His promises are just so real & evident. i really look forward to going for BS & sunday service just so that i can find out more & listen to His word. fill yrselves up constantly with the Word & never ever give the devil a foothold in yr life!

just started watching Under The Canopy Of Love.. it's such a cute show! i got hooked like almost immediately. hehe. finished like 3 epis straight away. :P most of the scenes were shot in Langham Place. i was just looking thru my HK photos and realised that i don't really have that much pictures of the place. it's quite ironic cause we actually did spend quite a bit of time there. :P hehe. still debating if i shd continue with epi 4 or shd i go to slp. cause i have a project meeting tomorrow.. hmmm.. hehe.

woot! korean class was damn fun! hehe. can't wait for my next class! there were a lot of working professionals who looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but there. when the teacher asked them y they were there, their reply was that the company sent them there, so they had no choice. :P we learnt quite a number of vowels & consonants, plus a couple of vocab. the funniest word we learnt was 의자. makes u sound like u need to go to the toilet real bad. btw, 의자 means chair. we learnt abt 30 words yesterday. still trying to remember them. and i got h/w. like our chinese xi zi. but i find korean easier to write. cause it's just lines,circles & squares. hehe. realised that korean's based on the phonetic system. am i ever glad that my mum taught me english using phonics! it makes it so much easier to understand. :D

tomorrow's the flea! yayness. sean's gonna help me carry everything there. guess we'll all have to cab down from the station. anw, it's only a short distance away.

wow... what a week it has been so far.. lots of changes! i got re-posted to Exclesior-Peninsula & i only received the notification on Sunday! can u imagine? and i was supposed to report for work the v next day! but i guess it all worked out well. dorothy & me were complaining that Grand Copthorne is so out of the way & furthermore, we were placed on the night shift. but due to this change in plans, we're now on the morning shift, and our hotel is a stone throw away from City Hall station! see how good God is? He heard me! :D and we're surrounded by lots of gd food! my new colleagues there are pretty friendly too. we get to go for breakfast as well! :P

been spending much of my time on AA201. shouldn't have skipped lessons last week. it might have made a difference to my understanding. then again, with my teacher, maybe not. i still need to figure out what's impt in the Notes to the financial statements. thank God i managed to figure out how to do the statement of equity changes. :) felt pretty accomplished after that. hehe. and so, it ended up that i didn't go for campus today. decided to camp at home to do a little bit of revision. i'm really gonna trust God to see me thru my test on mon. feel prepared, yet so unprepared at the same time. anyone got that kind of feeling before?

Joyce has managed to get her exchange to canada. seeing my friends go on exchange one by one fills me with a sense of wanderlust. that, despite me returning from one not too long ago. i suppose one can never have too many of such experiences. i wouldn't mind going on one again pretty soon. hehe. uni of st gallen would be an ideal choice, save for the fact that i can't speak german nor french. hmph.

i really need to start clearing up my room pretty soon. my mum's complaining that it's becoming a breeding nest for insects of all sorts. wardrobe is still full, floor's messy ( with my 30" luggage STILL on the floor ), table & chairs r overflowing with books. so yeah, i guess u cld probably certify my room as a disaster zone with a huge "keep out" warning sign. can't wait for the SGST flea to come! i need to sell my stuff!!!

so yeah, enough of ranting. it's back to the books again..

wow.. the 5th week of sch is over already. time really flies! the next 2 weeks r gonna be spent at IMF. and i have a freaking test on Mon! weekend is gonna be spent on it. think i'll be going for Campus this week. they're gonna launch the History Makers Camp!! so exciting! :D hehe. can't wait. Ade's going. Cath, go la.. haha. then it'll be more fun. lots of things to do this weekend. Zouk flea's on sunday. thinking if i shd go down cause i've a test the next day. sighz. choices r not fun. anw, my care grp finally set up a blog. so cool!

i've received practically all my DVDs/VCDs except for Really Really Like You! :D can't wait to start watching them. but i need to gao dim my AA201 first. it sucks. FRS sucks too. urgh.

i've gotten my threadless t & i absolutely love it! :D hehe. spent quite a bit today, but it couldn't be helped. they were all necessities. i repeat, necessities! brought my mum to la senza & she was like totally converted. hehehe. of course, i got what i wanted from there too as well. ;) and i finally bought my shoes from Everbest for imf. cost me like $99(be4 discount)! but i guess it's an investment.

gotta see debbie off on wed. time flies. it's now her turn to go overseas for exchange. hope that she'll have fun there. and not forget us. a parcel or two would be nice.

i hope my dvds and movies come soon. though that means that i MAY get addicted to them, which is not a v gd thing.

headed back to SA today with esther. was a v last min decision made. but i sure enjoyed myself. :) and it just so happens that we bumped into mdm chan in the caf! her reaction was one of visible surprise & shock. ditto for us. couldn't believe our luck. hehe. chatted with her for awhile in the caf. turns out she's counselling ppl at TJC & Fairfield. she seems to be enjoying herself a lot! and she looks much livelier & energetic! guess retirement's treating her quite well. :) after touring the sch, i've decided that i still like the Malan Rd campus more. i guess it's cause all our memories of SA r in that campus. i don't really feel an affinity with the new campus. but it was nice going back and breathing in the 'saints' air again. wanted to say hi to mrs tan(s), but one was out of the office & the other was on course. oh well. guess i'll have to go back again. i don't mind. i wanna eat the caf food again. caught sight of mr smith too. but we didn't really say hi cause he was invigilating an exam. will leave u guys with a nice photo i took of the sch's motto...

i've got henna on my left hand. just lovely. t'was a present for taking part in the Amazing Race today. :P had quite a lot of fun today. but i'm totally bushed! reached The Oriental at 8am this morning. had some briefings before starting the game. i think we really walked a lot today!

so yeah. that was the route for today. was perspiring so much too! the game ICs made us sing National Day songs and dance on the steps of the Old Supreme Court! and the Hippo Buses/Duck Tours Buses just had to drive by with lots of tourists in it. The guide in the bus even told the tourists to look at us. so yeah. we became the center of attraction. i guess they prolly found it v amusing. after all, it's not every day that u're treated to a sight like this.

got posted to Grand Copthorne Waterfront. it's not bad i guess, though i would rather prefer Fullerton. and i got the night shift! shucks. i want the morning one! but nooooo. the army ppl r v rigid! they don't wanna let us change over! grrr. the morning shift ppl want the night shift and vice versa. how ironic can this get? ahhh. i hope they'll let me swap duties for at least one day cause i wanna go for my k lesson! anw, the whole event's gonna be almost over by then. gotta apply for official leave from sch on mon as well. will be missing quite a few tests & presentations. wonder how the teachers will make up for it.

yay!! i've managed to get my hands on 8 of Jeon Do Yeon's movies. but i still cannot find The Promise (1998) with Park Shin Yang inside. :( it's out of stock on yesasia too!! i find that korean movies r v hard to find in SG! i only managed to buy You Are My Sunshine (2005) from Music Junction. i couldn't find the rest of her movies in the video stores at all! bought Untold Scandal,Happy End & The Contact from Yahoo! Auctions. and the rest, from yesasia. haha!! i'll have lots of stuff to watch. :D

wai shan just lent me Save The Last Dance. it's v nice! better than Kim Sam Soon. i got bored after watching the 1st epi of Kim Sam Soon. i'm gonna try to get my hands on Really Really Like You. seems quite interesting. haha. Pam ah.. u're gonna have lots of shows to watch too! :)

i was reading thru some of my posts dating wayyyyyy back to 2003. and as i read, i realised how much my thinking, my concerns & my life has changed. i mean, looking back, those issues that i used to care abt, don't even seem remotely important now. guess this is part of growing up. a part of me wishes so much to be back in JC. really miss the time and friendships that were forged there. div lessons in the pen room with mdm chan, having my morning prata with yvonne/weilin/esther in the caf, zapping 'model' essays in the student center, our container block classroom, econs lectures, lit lessons, maths lessons, heck, even GP lessons. i had so much fun, so many gd memories of SA. i've never regreted choosing that sch, though ironically, i didn't even want to go there in the first place. i still remember telling pam emphatically that i wouldn't choose SA no matter what. but God saw beyond everything & placed me there. i wonder what my life would have been like if i hadn't gone there. i guess i would have missed out on a LOT. definitely. having said that, i really miss SA now. esther chew, we HAVE to go back soon! i want to buy the new PE shirt. :) and visit mrs tan(s),smith,yoong & maybe koh. haha. too bad chan's gone. :( miss her nagging abt my handwriting. :P

was just reading janelle's blog abt her exchange and all and it so makes me feel like going for another one. 6 weeks is really too short. i believe that going on exchange is something everyone shd experience at least once! it really makes u change yr perspective on things. u get 2 see things from a diff viewpoint, learn to be more culturally & racially tolerant, learn NOT to speak in Singlish, learn to speak slowly so that the angmos can understand etc...

2nd week of sch's already over. time really flies. i really need to develop the photos that i took in HK. i'm supposed to mail them back to my friends in HK. it's been 3 weeks since i left & i haven't done so. oooops. :P and, u know what? i haven't cleared out the stuff from my luggage yet. it's still in my room. hahaha. see what a big procrastinator i am! at this rate, i think i can just leave it in my room in preparation for my next trip. don't have to keep in the storeroom already. :D

the aircon in the seminar rooms is sooooo cold! it's practically akin to a freezer. :( i think i'm gonna bring a much thicker sweater to sch from next week onwards. according to amy, her tutor told her that the sch actually arranged for the air con system to be cleaned during the 3 mth hols. that's y it's so cold now. bleah.

bought 1 drama + 1 movie. shd arrive in 1 week! :D i <3 Park Sun Young!! she was great in 18 vs 29. looking forward to her in 101st Proposal. wanted to buy it when i was in HK so that i could collect in on the spot together with my other DVDs. but it wasn't out yet cause it was too new. but i guess what matters is that i'm getting my hands on it now! :P

modules this sem seem to have lots & lots of readings. not much in terms of tutorials and all. i feel like i have no work to do, but yet, i have this feeling that i need to do some work. haha. mixed feelings. Wai Shan feels the same way too. i think NEJ is a gd lecturer. better than my one anw. feel like changing tut grps. but dunno if i can get that particular one. shd have just stuck to plan 2. my original plan.

esther & i seem to have lost interest in shopping for clothes. we covered Marina Square, Suntec & Raffles City w/o buying any clothes. esther managed to get some masks from Skin Food though. i <3 Skin Food. the packaging is just sooo adorable. i'm a sucker for things like this. :P Zara/MNG/Topshop/(insert any other mainstream brands), all failed to impress. as esther so rightly said, it's probably cause we're jaded. sad huh. looks like we gotta source for some other form of entertainment, and i do not mean going to the library.

sch has started. bleah. time to start working hard again. IMF's coming soon. wonder how the sch's gonna schedule our lessons/tests so that we don't miss out.

on a side note, Paul & Joe's Autumn Collection, Chocoholic, is soooooo yummylicious! :D

just finished watching Il Mare. it was super gd! so touching. i hope that the Lake House won't disappoint! the soundtrack for Il Mare's pretty nice too. the whole movie had a sort of magical,relaxed feel to it. the scenery was breathtaking as well! i especially loved the part when they were at Cheju Island. the waters were so crystal clear! Lee Jung-Jae is quite cute too. :D doesn't hurt to have eye candy. ;) gonna source for my Jeon Do Yeon movies soon. yay!

i need to clean up my room. my disgustingly huge but extremely useful 30" luggage is still occupying a large spot on my floor. not only that, stuff that i bought from HK is like littered all over my room. my closet is practically overflowing cause there's no space in there. i've come to the conclusion that i either need a new closet or i get rid of some of my clothes.

for those not in the know, my luggage was grossly overweight..by 10kg. so that makes a total of 35kg of checked in baggage. hah. not forgetting my 5 handcarry on bags. was practically doing gymnastics at the airport just trying to juggle everything. and the stupid gate had to be so far away from the entrance. we had to take the train over before walking some more. :( oh wells. it's over.

shopping in HK was great! u guys shd absolutely NOT MISS the summer sale!!! everything is freaking cheap!! i got 2 nice pairs of sunnies! :D haha. cosmetics & perfume r so much cheaper over there too.

will probably upload the remaining photos when i've finally managed to clear up the mess in my room.

Macau was ok overall i guess... but the weather was freaking freaking hot! it was like an oven! all of us were drenched in pespiration when we got out of the air conditioned building. bleah. the weather was a huge huge -ve! it would be nice to go in winter though. :) dog racing was pretty fun. we won quite a bit too. haha. we headed to Lisboa Casino after that. lost HKD$60 there. :( not fun.. hmph.. will post up more pictures from Macau when i get the rest of the pictures from everyone. :D
