whee.......i'm employed!! for only 2 weeks though. i've managed to secure some tele surveyor job. the pay's pretty decent too. but i've gotta source for more jobs as well. can't just wait for the schools to call me up. i've called up 13 schools today, but only 3 said that there MAY be vaccancies. oh well. guess i've gotta take it as it comes. esther's working with me too! haha. its in Chinatown though. transport's gonna be pretty expensive.i'm still sourcing for a cheaper transportation route. :P

most of my classmates are either slacking or working. Hai Ha's gotten a job at Maybank. It's some data entry job. Chu Wen's working at Jurong, dunno what her job encompasses though. i know that Janice is happily rotting at home watching TV.[ not fair] and i think the rest of them are unemployed.. jobs are hard to come by. maybe after my temp job's over, i may try to get one at Changi Airport. seems pretty interesting. haha..

i've never been so bored! i used to think that school was bad cause of the endless homework and tests. but now, i'm actually starting to miss school! it feels like i don't have an aim in life now. i've joined the ranks of the unemployed and i'm utterly bored. when i was still in school, the only thing that i was worried abt was my undone homework, block tests n prelims etc.. now?? i'm worried abt not having a job. tao nan still hasn't called me up. i hate the feeling of uncertainty, of not knowing what will happen. i sure do not want to be left dangling on a string, waiting by the phone for them to call every single day. at least give me a reply! anyway,i've applied for a job at Life bookshop. the pay is pretty gd. $6 on weekdays, $8 on sat and $10 on sun & public holidays. but, the job i really really want is the relief teaching job at tao nan. the working hours are so much better than the other retail jobs. plus, i'll have more time to myself & i'll get to go for service n cell. i never knew that applying for jobs was so hard. or maybe, i'm just picky.

went out with esther today to apply for jobs. after which, we went down to expo for the metro sale. i found out that they replenish the stock every day. Surf Bay has pretty nice stuff, but they don't have it in my size! i overheard the sales assistant telling another customer to come early in the morning if she wants the 'good stuff'. i'm still debating whether to go down tomorrow. but.....i'm unemployed, which means that i'm broke. my parents aren't financing me anymore. they've been chasing me to get a job all the time. please God, let tao nan call me and offer me a permanent job. and hopefully, esther will be able to get her 'dream' job at Life..:)

You are helpful, nice and thoughtful. You always speak your mind, except when it comes to having a crush on a guy. You may give hints, but it makes the guy more clueless. You attract a lot of guys because they are attracted to your outer appearance and your personality too.

oh well, the new sch term's gonna start in around 2 weeks time. time really flies. i think i'll miss SA a lot!! maybe i'll go back to visit chan or something n collect my testimonial. Speaking of testimonials, the reason why i wasn't able to collect my stuff was becos of BB!! we were supposed to collect it from 13th-15th of Dec, but BB didn't give it to the office clerk. We called him up and he said that he didn't pass it to the clerk cause the person who prints it was on holiday!! grrr... he made me go all the way down for nothing! and the best part? i was still sick with a fever! so, i think i ought to claim my doctor's fees from him!!

whee.......i'm damn happy now. i've gotten the approval from MOE to be a relief teacher! Esther's convinced that they are biased against her somehow cause she applied for it almost 2 weeks earlier than me. she's gonna call up MOE tomorrow to demand an explaination.. haha. Christmas is coming!! i can't wait. love that Christmas-y feeling, n carols n the food n the PRESENTS!!!! ;)

i've been down with the flu for the past week.. its pretty terrible esp since i had a fever that just wouldn't go away for 1 sordid week! bet its cause i didn't take the flu jab when i went to hk. the doc advised me to take a flu jab once i'm well. Apparently some ppl are more suseptible to flu n i guess i'm one of those ppl.. :( i've been denied my b-dae prezzies!!! *pouts* i was supposed to watch Sleeping Beauty at the Esplanade-treat from Eunice, but was unable to go cause i was sick..[ n they were pretty gd seats too!] n i couldn't go for the 5 course dinner at Club Street- treat from Pam cause i was still sick!!![argh.....missed out on so much!] nvm.. u guys can find some way to make it up to me. haha..:)

day 5 in hk

kk... today we went to Cheung Sha Wan which was the wholesale mkt.. took the MTR down. had quite an interesting encounter at the station. this bunch of s'poreans came up to us asking for directions on how to get to Wong Tai Sin. the funny part was that they came up to us n asked directions in canto.. haha. u shd have seen their faces when we replied first in canto, than in chinese n finally in singlish..wahahaha. oh yeah, i haven't told u the best part yet. u know how to tell a typical s'porean from a hk-er?? check out the OP shirts n flip flops!! yes its true! they were all decked out in berms n OP shirts even though its winter over there.. it wasn't really that cold, but cause the hk ppl were all wearing winter wear, it was pretty easy to tell that they weren't locals.. haha.:) anyway, after Cheung Sha Wan, we went over to HK Island to eat. The food is super good!! Had some chicken with rice. Esther n Pam were happy cause they finally got to eat rice after days of noodles. But give me noodles over rice any day! Oh yeah, walked over to Lyndhurst Terrace to search for the egg tarts. couldn't find it at first cause the roads in HK are kinda weird.. i called my bro's friend in HK for help, but he just laughed at me,saying that egg tarts were everywhere...yeah right, i couldn't even see one! Anyway, finally managed to find it. it was on the other side of the street. the egg tarts were just soooooo gd! headed back to the hotel to rest for a while be4 going to Fa Yuen St to buy sneakers!! Ooh.. i just love my sneakers. i was the last one to get mine. cost me only HKD$199 which is like S$38.. its so much cheaper than S'pore. and the best part? the shoe hasn't even arrived in s'pore yet! this is becos HK fashion is almost half a year ahead of S'pore!! haha.:) We had Mac for dinner!! n i bought my Zhu Co Late..haha.. so cute.. Esther bought Vanilla..[in case u're wondering, they're bears!!] Mac wasn't that bad after all..:)

i've already posted abt day 6 in hk.. so yeah, don't see any point in repeating it again... lest it bores u.haha

day 3 in hk

we headed over to hk island again.. this time, we went to li yuen streets east n west, peddler's building n stanley mkt. li yuen had lots of cheap stuff for sale. it's even cheaper than ladies mkt. i've come to the conclusion that ladies mkt is just too touristy n there's nothing worth buying there. anyway, we went to walk up the mid levels escalator. had lunch at a shop in soho. didn't really take notice of the shop's name though. but the food was good. haha. after eating, we went to stanley by bus. the bus ride felt more like a rollercoaster ride. bus drivers in hk sure drive a lot faster. but the scenery was great.. had a very nice time in stanley. i bought 2 roxy polo shirts there for only HKD$60. haha. great deal right. we had to rush back cause pam had to meet michelle to go to lan kwai fong. so esther n i entertained ourselves by walking ard mongkok. we had KFC for dinner. the KFC's so much nicer than s'pore. i liked their fries.. this was the night that we found argyle center..it's a great place. earrings were going for only HKD$4 per pair, shirts were ard HKD$40. the prices 4 everything were just super cheap. i even managed to buy 2 shirts for only HKD$10. too bad pam missed out on it. as each day passes, we manage to find cheaper n cheaper things..haha. this time round, we got back to the hotel pretty early. ard 11p.m.

day 4 in hk

hm...today, we didn't really do anything much.. we woke up late in the first place, ard 11am. headed to argyle center cause we didn't get to see anything much the previous night.. we reached there ard 12+. but most of the shops weren't open yet,so we decided to walk ard mongkok be4 heading back. we walked down sai yeung choi street n looked into the shops along the street. i bought a couple of vcds there too. haha. pam, esther n i wanted to cut our hair the day be4,but we did not cause it was getting pretty late. it so happens that someone gave us a flyer for I.O.U..the very same salon that we wanted to go to. we didn't really know the exact location in yau ma tei,so it was really lucky that we managed to get the flyer. spent most of our time in the salon.. most of which was waiting 4 pam. the massages they gave are super gd!! in s'pore, it feels like they're scratching your head instead of massaging it. in hk, it's really very very relaxing. all of us were very pleased with our hair cut.. what's more, its very cheap too. only spent HKD$75..pam took a longer time than us cause she highlighted her hair n went for treatment. i think she spent almost 3 hrs there, while esther n i were done in 30 min. we didn't really want to wait for her, so we walked back to our hotel via fa yuen street. fell asleep while waiting for pam.. she only reached the hotel at ard 6.30p.m. we headed straight to The Peak after that. we had dinner at Marche. the variety of food there was pretty small as compared to singapore. but the food sure was good. i liked the pasta salad..took a couple of pictures be4 heading back. we stopped over at argyle to look ard first before heading back to the hotel.
pictures for hk r up at last......link's on the left..will continue to update tomorrow.

day 2 in hk....

went over to causeway bay to walk walk.. reached there ard 11am.. had breakfast in the cha can teng below our hotel. food was pretty gd n the servings were huge!! there wasn't much to do in causeway bay cause most of the stuff was pretty expensive. clothes sold were more for the winter season.managed to get a pair of earings for HKD$5 for my cousin at Island Beverly. headed over to Jardine's Bazzar after that.. wow. it was one of the best decisions we made. i got 2 tops from there which only cost me HKD$10 per top and 2 shawls... esther n pam bought lots of earings.. but... they'll soon realise that it isn't that cheap after all..u'll find out y when i blog abt what happened on the 3rd day.haha.. we had lunch at Mak's Noodles, which sells extremely delicious wanton mee.. the noodles were soft n springy, the wanton was super nice n the soup wasn't oily at all.. not like s'pore.. one of the best things abt hk has to be the food! i took pictures of it, but will only be able to post it up at a later date... oh well. i shall do my utmost best to describe everything as best as i can.

headed back to our hotel to drop everything off cause our stuff was getting pretty heavy. rested for a while before heading to the avenue of stars at tsim sha tsui. when we came out of the tsim sha tsui mtr, guess what we saw? the esprit warehouse outlet! all of us totally went crazy. i think we spent at least a gd 2 hours there.. all of us spent at least HKD$350 there.. by the time we reached the avenue of stars, it was already 11+pm. it was pretty cold esp since the wind was blowing. but it was nice. ;] after taking a couple of pictures here n there, we headed to a mac in tsim sha tsui for supper! like i said earlier on, the mac doesn't close till 3am. haha. we saw a couple of leng zai there. esther was so happy.. actually, we wanted to take pictures of them, but it would be too obvious, so we decided not to. the streets had plenty of ppl walking ard even at 12+am.. this goes to show how safe hk is, even at night..even sch kids were out at 12am. really wonder how they're gonna go to sch the next day. reached the hotel ard 1am.. the latest so far..

day 1 in hk...

arrived in hk ard 2p.m on sun,28th nov.. took quite some time to clear customs and all. after which, we took a 40min ride to our hotel in mongkok..we spent some time getting aquainted with our room.[haha] went down to silvercord plaza in tsim sha tsui for dinner. i must say, the food is really good. and that is considering the fact that we had it in a food court!! i had noodles with chicken, veg n coke which cost a total of HKD$32. food is much more expensive in hk as is the transport. walked down haiphong road n bought some socks.. only 3 for HKD$25..Pretty nice ones too. we walked down Nathan road to tung choi street, better known as ladies mkt.the stuff sold there is pretty touristy n kinda expensive. only bought a couple of things there..one gd deal i got there was the watch, which cost me only HKD$20...The street was pretty long, so we only managed to walk down half of it. we were pretty tired so we headed back to the hotel to rest. anyway, most of the shops were closing too. reached the hotel at ard 12am..that's not really late, considering the fact that hk ppl seem to have a much better nightlife than us..the mac there closes at 3am!

ok..i've gotta get ready for church.. will probably update more when i'm back... ciao.. pictures soon. when i figure out how to fix the usb driver..

stuck in hk airport..

my flight back to s'pore just got delayed cause of some technical error. oh well. i guess its better to wait then to take an unsafe flight. i'll be reaching s'pore ard 2am on sat now.. anyway, had a real fun time in hk. everything was super super cheap!! i mean, each shirt was only ard HK$10-20!! can u believe it? u can't even get this kind of pricing in s'pore. i'm never gonna shop in s'pore ever again. not worth it at all. the esprit warehouse outlet in hk was super fantastic too. some of the designs can't even be found in s'pore!! can't wait to get back to s'pore.. lots of new clothes! i was so worried that i'ld have to pay for excess baggage. luckily it was only ard 17kg++.. pamelia had an excess of 2kg. luckily we coulldd combine the weight allowance..otherwise i think she would have to pay quite a bit. haha. i'm gonna miss hk. everything has been great. the food, the weather, the ppl etc... before leaving for the airport today, we went to NEWAY to cheong k[sing karaoke]..super cheap man. only ard HK$35 per person inclusive of drink n food! 2 solid hours of entertainment. when can u get this in s'pore??? the only bad thing abt hk that i can find is that everyone seems to like smoking a lot! the shopping centres etc are all terribly smokey. and we had to climb up n down to the MTR station all the timee. they seem to like to save electricity a lot! very tiring. esp so cause their MTR station is so much more larger than s'pore.. hm..its ard 8++ soon.. gotta go in soon... will update more when i get back..
